Cluster ACT   focuses its action on the assumption that
 1) competitiveness through innovation,
 2) joint collaboration among diverse competences,
 3) private investments to support innovation
still need to be supported all over EU Regions and in particular in bordering areas that have a strong potential in the near future.

Cluster ACT aims at establishing a concrete and coherent set of actions to tackle the targeted challenges all over the Med sea basin:

  • Let innovation emerge.
  • Enhance collaboration principles through clusters as a tool.
  • Educate to the correct relationship with private investors.

  • The "Summer School on Energy Planning of 100% Renewable Energy Systems" , held from September 2 to 6, 2024 at the Inter University Center, Dubrovnik, was focused on energy and climate modeling of smart energy systems along with dynamic modeling of relevant ecological, economic, sociological and technical parameters.
    24 participants from 16 different countries took part in the summer school. In addition to acquiring new knowledge, the participants used the full potential of the summer school and had a lot of fun, met new friends, colleagues or possible partners in future projects and research!
  • The updated list for citation year 2022 includes 18 members of the SDEWES International Scientific Committee in the 2% of the most influential scientists in the world today!
    SDEWES Centre proudly congratulates to Annamaria Buonomano, Francesco Calise, Raf Dewil, Neven Duić, Kemal Hanjalic, Soteris A. Kalogirou, Şiir Kılkış, Walter Leal Filho, Henrik Lund, Christos Markides, Brian Vad Mathiesen, Poul Alberg Østergaard, Antonio Piacentino, Rodney A. Stewart, Petar Sabev Varbanov, Subhas K. Sikdar, Qiuwang Wang and Xiliang Zhang for this great achievement.
    The list has been made and updated by a group of researchers from Stanford University led by professor John Ioannidis. They surveyed scientists around the world from different fields using Scopus database. separate data are shown for career-long and single year impact. Both lists are available here.
  • Povjerenstvo Međunarodnog centra za održivi razvoj energetike, voda i okoliša (SDEWES Centre) odabralo je tri najbolja diplomska rada studenata Fakulteta strojarstva i brodogradnje za 2022./2023. Autori najboljih radova su 1. Karlo Kvaternik, 2. Marko Starčević i 3. Jan Karl Ormuž. Prvoplasirani će biti nagrađen s novčanom nagradom od 1.000,00 EUR bruto, a drugo i trećeplasirani imaju pravo na besplatnu kotizaciju za jednu od SDEWES konferencija koje će se održati 2024. godine. Čestitamo!
  • Međunarodni centar za održivi razvoj energetike, voda i okoliša (SDEWES Centre) raspisuje natječaj za nagrađivanje diplomskih radova studenata Fakulteta strojarstva i brodogradnje Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Pravo prijave imaju svi studenti s diplomskim radom obranjenim u akademskoj godini 2022./2023. s ocjenom izvrstan i s temom iz područja održivog razvoja energetike, voda i okoliša. Prva nagrada se sastoji od novčane nagrade u iznosu 1.000,00 EUR bruto. Prijave se šalju zaključno sa 16. listopada 2023. godine na email: diplomski@sdewes.org. Potrebno je poslati ispunjen obrazac za prijavu, diplomski rad i prijepis ocjena diplomskog studija.

  • Project 'COASTENERGY' was declared the best EU project in Croatia in the category 'Contribution to science and innovation'. In this year's selection for the "Best County EU" project in Croatia, among 37 other candidates, the winner in the "Contribution to science and innovation" category was the Istrian County project COASTENERGY - Blue energy in ports and coastal urban areas. The project also won third place according to the popular public votes. SDEWES Centre participated in the project as a project partner in charge of the WP3.
  • Povjerenstvo Međunarodnog centra za održivi razvoj energetike, voda i okoliša (SDEWES Centre) odabralo je tri najbolja diplomska rada studenata FSB-a za 2019./20. te za 2020./21. Autori najboljih radova su Dino Kovačević u ak. godini 2019./20. te Dominik Rašić u ak. godini 2020./21. Prvoplasirani će biti nagrađeni s novčanom nagradom od 5.000,00 HRK svaki, a drugo i trećeplasirani imaju pravo na besplatnu kotizaciju za bilo koju od SDEWES konferencija u 2022. godini. Čestitamo
  • 20 members of the SDEWES International Scientific Committee were listed among the 2% most influential scientists in the world today in the updated list for citation year 2020. The list has been made and updated by a group of researchers from Stanford University led by professor John Ioannidis. They surveyed 100,000 top scientists using Scopus database and classified them into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.
    “We have created a publicly available database that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator”, the authors explained.

A committee consisting of Prof. Nataša Markovska, Prof. Nikola Ružinski and Prof. Aleksander Zidanšek made a decision on the three best graduate theses and the best authors are Mario Majdandžić, Luka Pavlinek and Vanja Kušen. Best thesis author, Mario Majdandžić will receive a cash prize in the amount of 5,000 HRK and the other two authors will receive a fee waiver for one of SDEWES conferences in 2018. Congratulations!
